The city of Gulch is a bustling place, a haven for criminals and rogues, yet a cherished home to its natives. You might be a native, well familiar with typical, day-to-day life here. Or you may be from off-world, here for some opportunity you think you can't get elsewhere.

Or, you may have been dragged here by the dimensional portal known as the Transponser™— an outsider, confused and weary.

What will you do while you are here?

1) New arrivals: Maybe you're a mercenary who just arrived from off world. Or maybe you're a visitor who came through the transporter. Either way, you're new, and it's time to explore.

2) Taking a job: Everyone who comes to Gulch needs to have a means of making income. Maybe you've taken a job as a mercenary. Maybe you become a lowly store clerk. Either way, you need to make contact with customers.

3) Avoiding the plague: The clouds are descending and it's time to find shelter! Make your way through the streets with the others who have found themselves vulnerable.

4) Touring the city: It means a long train ride but you want to see the sights, so you pay for a token and off you go!

5) Wildcard: Whatever you want to play out! Tag around and have fun!

And that'll be the end of the conversation for a while until Epsilon arrives at the house with the twins.

Deal? Delta ponders that for a while as he cleans up the kitchen floor and puts a 'do not use' sign on the dishwasher. And then he's too elbow deep in suds in the sink and his mind too much on the soup he's making for the twins' lunch for him to remember that until the airlock opens and there are cheering bodies hurtling through the house.

"Epsilon?" he calls even as he gains an Eta barnacle to his left leg. "I'm in the kitchen making lunch if you want some."

Epsilon's headed to the kitchen as soon as he hears that. "Please. Your call distracted me when I was considering it earlier." He shrugs it off though. It's no loss. Even if it might upset Delta that he skips meals occasionally, he's not going to lie about it.

"That wasn't my intent," Delta chuckles as he dries his hands and kneels down to give Eta and Iota a big hug. "You two go wash your hands and faces before lunch, okay?"

Iota nods quietly and takes his sister's hand before leading her off.

"I've made split pea soup," he provides.

"I know. But obviously, I was needed here. And the least I can do is spend some time at home since I'm here already."

Epsilon smiles at that. "Sounds fine. It's better than what I would have been eating."

"I'm sure," Delta smiles, preparing a bowl of soup for Epsilon. "We've missed you with all of the hub-bub around here. From Sigma's boyfriend to Omega's job to my career change and leaving home..."

"Maybe I need to cut back on my travels if home is going to be that exciting..." Epsilon doesn't want to though. It would limit his search even more. But his family needs him.

[protective_logic]

"I suggest not being around when York is visiting," Delta rolls his eyes. "Those two don't stop kissing I think."

Not that he's jealous. At all. No.

"You say that as though it's hard to ignore two idiots making out. Awkward, but not hard."

Epsilon looks amused. "So, is Sigma's boyfriend attractive?"

Delta blushes and doesn't look at Epsilon. "Yes," Delta allows.

York is unbelievably handsome. "Sigma seems very, very happy with him."

Epsilon is smirking at that. "Well, he hasn't been scared off yet by our family, so he can't be too bad in other areas than looks either. Good for him."

[protective_logic]

"He's... dependable," Delta allows. And he's pretty sure York would shoot someone if they threatened Sigma. "And I've never seen Sig smile so widely."

"Dependable is a good thing. More than can be said about me, sometimes. And Sigma being happy is good enough for me."

[protective_logic]

"You're... reliable in your own way, Epsilon," Delta answers cautiously. Yes, he wants his brother around more, but asking that may be too much.

Until recently Epsilon had just barely trailed Omega in Delta's list of 'people that will leave this family behind.' With how things were changing, he has to give his younger brother top slot.

"I'm reliable in that I'm not around, you mean?"

Epsilon looks away. "I have my reasons to not be here, Delta."

[protective_logic]

"T-that isn't what I mean," Delta says quietly, his shoulders sagging. "Eppy, it's really okay that you go. Wherever you want to go you can. Just... stay in contact."

Epsilon is keeping his voice soft deliberately, not wanting to have younger ears hear. "Delta... I can't find my answers just staying here and waiting. And I need to know. But I will not leave you guys permanently by choice."

[protective_logic]

"There aren't any answers to the question you're trying to answer," Delta sighs. "He left. Let it go."

"Delta, you know I can't believe that. I won't."

There's conviction in his eyes there. You will not win this one.

Delta sighs. He believes it because he has to. It's easier.

"Don't get hopes up around here. We don't need that."

Epsilon nods. "I'm not planning on it. You know that I keep why I do what I do quiet. I've only told you and Omega outright."

"Your time might be better spent here helping hte family."

"I can try to spend more time here, Delta... But I can't be what you and Omega are to the family."
